About Us

Rick N. Davis is the manager, trainer, owner and instructor at Davis stables in Palmetto Florida. Davis stables was moved in 1989 to the Tampa Bay area of Florida from Indiana, and has been in operation since 1972. Rick has trained, shown and instructed numerous world, national, regional, and local champion horses and riders.

Rick has conducted training clinics on English, Western Pleasure and Pleasure Driving throughout the Midwest and southeast United States for Morgan, Arabian, and all-breed horse clubs. Rick was a speaker at the Morgan Convention in Orlando and was a panelist for the Judges training seminar as well. Rick has judged well over 100 shows, including local, Regional and World competitions during his career.

Rick is a 1977 graduate of Ball State University with a B.S. degree in accounting. He was president of the Muncie Horse Club for three years and a director for nine years. He has also served as director for the Florida Morgan Horse Association and Tampa Charity Horse Shows. He also was a former Vice President of the Indiana Morgan Horse Club. Rick has had articles published in The Morgan Horse and The International Morgan Connection magazines on Western Pleasure and Saddleseat Equitation.

Currently, Rick operates a huntseat, western and saddleseat equitation program, in addition to training horses. Rick was the youngest ISHA licensed judge ever and has been judging since he was 16 years old. Rick has been a USEF large "R" judge for more than 18 years and has judged the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show five times.
